The success of the Damascus Area Community Design Workshop depends on integrating all the various viewpoints in the community. The community design workshop will use the design expertise of international expert Patrick Condon and others to develop a model plan for the Damascus Area

But the real experts on any community are the people who live and work there. The goal of this outreach effort is to get a broad range of ideas from people in the community. Several parts of the design workshop itself will be used to have the community apply their expertise to shaping the final outcome. We encourage you to spend a few minutes to send us your thoughts on the Damascus area. Some questions you may want to think about:

  1. What would you like to see preserved in the Damascus Area as part of the community design workshop's plan? (Send us pictures if you have them!)
  2. What would you like to see included in a long range plan for the Damascus Area that does not exist in the community now?
  3. What improvements should be included in a plan for the Damascus area that would make it a better place to live and work?
  4. Is there anything you definitely do not want to see happen in the Damascus area?
  5. Have you visited places you think are models for the Damascus area? What specific things would you copy?
